Holiday Gaming Plans Disrupted as Slay the Spire 2 Gets Pushed to 2026

The release of Slay the Spire 2, an anticipated sequel, has been delayed to March 2026, impacting gamers' holiday plans.

The sequel to the popular deckbuilding game Slay the Spire, known as Slay the Spire 2, has announced a delay in its release to March 2026. The developers at Mega Crit have stated that the decision was made before announcing the date for Hollow Knight: Silksong.

“We got together as a team to determine our new release window before Silksong’s date was announced. The timing just worked out like that, but on the bright side, everyone can keep busy playing Silksong during the wait!”

This humorous comment highlights the competitive landscape of game launches. While no specific release date was set prior, the game was originally slated for a release by the end of 2025. Mega Crit emphasized their confidence in meeting the new timeline, attributing the delay to the ambition of expanding the game considerably.

“Compared to Slay the Spire 1’s early access launch, this new sequel has a lot more content that we can’t wait to share with you.”

The developers aim to ensure a high-quality experience as expected by the gaming community. With challenges in the industry, from competing titles to production delays, players will have to wait a bit longer for this highly anticipated game.
