Declining Player Base for 'Rematch'

Recent data reveals a significant drop in the number of players for the game 'Rematch', which has faced various challenges since its launch.

The player count for Rematch has experienced a troubling decline since its release in June 2025. Developed by Sloclap, the game promised an original take on soccer gaming without traditional elements like fouls or offsides.

After its launch generated excitement with a peak of 50,434 players, data from SteamCharts shows a staggering drop of 60.32% in August, with the player count falling to 20,546. Meanwhile, an average drop from 20,256 players in July to just 8,037 in August is equally concerning. Xbox players saw a drop of 78.4%, while PlayStation 5 players decreased by 60.1%.

Challenges reported by players include issues with the game’s netcode, delays, and frustrating crashes. Although patches have addressed some of these issues and introduced crossplay, many players still face ongoing problems. Developers Sloclap are actively working on fixes and aim to restore the game’s reputation.
