Paradox Issues Apology for Yet Another DLC Blunder: ‘It Hurts So Much When We Mess Up Like This’
The launch of Crusader Kings 3: Coronations yesterday was met with a disappointing response, described by many as a ‘distinct splat.’ One day after its release, the DLC has garnered a mostly negative review score on Steam, primarily due to complaints over its lack of new content and accompanying bugs.
“This is literally a DLC that doesn’t change anything,” remarked one player, indicating that the new content felt closer to a mod or minor free update. Feedback highlights a pattern of customer dissatisfaction with Paradox’s recent offerings, with some users expressing that the additions should have been released as a free update rather than as a paid download.
Riad, the QA manager for Crusader Kings 3, acknowledged the issues in a recent Steam post, admitting that the release did not meet quality standards. He emphasized the need for the studio to better allocate resources to projects to ensure a high standard of quality in future releases. Riad stated, “It hurts so much when we mess up like this. We don’t take your trust for granted, and I want to do my best to ensure we earn it back.”
This apology follows a series of misfires from Paradox, including earlier controversies surrounding Bloodlines 2 and other titles, leading to user skepticism about the company’s ability to deliver quality content consistently.
