After 18 Months, OLED Monitor Burn-In Issues Only Just Start to Show
An update reveals that after extensive use, OLED burn-in is beginning to annoy users, but for many tasks, the screens remain effective.
Recent observations on the long-term use of OLED monitors have highlighted that burn-in issues are just starting to manifest after 18 months and over 4,000 hours of rigorous usage. Monitors Unboxed, the source of this update, emphasizes that despite the gradual emergence of these burn-in symptoms, most users can still use their displays for various applications without significant problems.
Key findings include a visible line down the center of the screen, primarily due to the static content displayed during usage. The channel has found that while certain subpixels have degraded more than others, the overall functionality of the monitor remains intact for general use. In most scenarios, burn-in effects appear to be manageable, allowing for continued satisfaction with OLED technology.
