Recently, the community page has been updated with a note next to the eight-core requirement stating “or equivalent.” The true meaning behind this remains unclear, as an eight-thread CPU and an eight-core CPU are not technically equivalent.

The minimum requirements listed example chips like the Intel Core i7 9700 and the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, both eight-core models, though they’re becoming dated by 2025 standards.
