Treyarch has provided a sneak preview of what fans can anticipate from the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 multiplayer map selection upon release. Following the Gulf War themes of last year’s Black Ops 6, the next installment embarks on a futuristic approach—a significant shift for the franchise since 2018.
In a recent four-minute Dev Talk video on Twitter, executives Brittany Pirello and Matt Scronce discussed the design philosophy behind the game’s launch maps. Accompanied by gameplay footage, they elaborated on the maps’ three-lane structure designed to give players moments to “catch their breath” between skirmishes. They also shared that while the game is reducing the number of manual doors, some automatic sliding doors, reminiscent of those in Black Ops 2’s Drone map, will remain.
With the full multiplayer reveal event slated for September 30, anticipation grows as fans await the unveiling of these exciting new maps. The game launches on November 14, 2025.
