Nvidia Requests Samsung to Increase GDDR7 Production Amid Rising AI GPU Demand

Nvidia is reportedly urging Samsung to ramp up its GDDR7 production, likely aimed at boosting AI GPUs circulating in China, while hopes for new RTX 50-series Super cards linger.

Recent reports reveal that Nvidia has prompted Samsung to significantly increase its GDDR7 memory production, which plays a crucial role in the RTX 50-series graphics cards. While this increase might suggest a wave of new RTX 50-series Super variants loaded with ample VRAM on the horizon, caution is advised as Nvidia’s primary revenue stream has increasingly shifted toward AI-related hardware.

As the ongoing tension surrounding AI capabilities continues to shape market dynamics, much of this manufactured memory seems destined for AI applications rather than gaming hardware. According to industry sources, Samsung is responding positively, with mass production of GDDR7 being noted as imminent.

Whether the anticipated production ramp will lead to enhanced gaming GPUs remains unclear. However, gamers are surely hopeful for the exciting enhancements that extra VRAM could bring to Nvidia’s next-gen offerings.
