Adjusting Silksong's Challenge: Mods for an Easier Experience

Discover how two new mods can help reduce the difficulty in Hollow Knight: Silksong, making the game more accessible for players who find the challenge daunting.

The sequel to Hollow Knight, Silksong, has proven to be unexpectedly challenging for many players. As they navigate its punishing encounters, some have found themselves desiring a gentler experience. Fortunately, two mods are available to help strike a balance between challenge and enjoyment.

Both mods require version 5.4.23.3 of the BepInEx plugin framework. To begin using them, simply grab the x64 .zip from the GitHub repo and extract it to Silksong’s installation directory. You’ll need to run the game once so necessary configuration files generate. After that, you can install each mod by placing the relevant .dll file in the /BepInEx/plugins folder.

Mod Suggestions

  1. Stakes of Marika - Rebirth Anywhere Mod: This mod allows players to set up respawn points within an area, eliminating the need for long runs back to a fight after each failure. However, it’s important to note that it can interfere with certain narrative moments.
  2. No More 2 Damage Plus Mod: This mod caps your damage intake at one mask per hit. It helps alleviate the immediate threat of dying from incidental contact with enemies, which can be a significant source of frustration in the game.

Both options are designed to make the experience more enjoyable without entirely sacrificing the spirit of the game’s challenge. Players are encouraged to toggle these mods based on their comfort level as they progress through the world of Silksong.
