Amazon Prime Video Announces Adaptation of Life is Strange as a TV Series

A live-action series based on the popular game Life is Strange has been greenlit by Amazon Prime Video, focusing on the story of Max Caulfield and her ability to rewind time.

Amazon Prime Video has officially announced a live-action adaptation of Life is Strange, a beloved video game, which will follow Max Caulfield, a girl who discovers her power to rewind time. The show will be created by showrunner Charlie Covell, who previously worked on The End of the F*ing World.

Life is Strange Adaptation

The original Life is Strange game was released episodically in 2015 and became known for its engaging narrative and impactful player choices. Covell expressed excitement about sharing Max and Chloe’s story with both longtime fans and new audiences.

In a statement, Dmitri Johnson and Mike Goldberg from Story Kitchen emphasized how they believe Life is Strange deserves to be more than just a game, stating, “It’s a cultural touchstone. After a decade-long journey, we’re honored to bring this story to Amazon alongside our partners at Square Enix and the talented team at LuckyChap.”

As it stands, this adaptation is anticipated to stay true to the original game’s storyline, which has set a strong precedent in narrative-driven gaming.
