When you find yourself stuck in the Far Fields area of Hollow Knight: Silksong, there’s a quest that can lead you into a predicament.

While the game doesn’t guide you step-by-step, here’s a breakdown of how to escape and continue your adventure.

The Quest to Complete

This particular quest can be quite frustrating as it hinges on finding a specific enemy that drops the item you need to progress.

The Seamstress will ask you to gather bugs that generate a “marvelous spine, flexible yet strong.” You easily encounter this item if you’re observant.

To complete this quest, you’ll hunt for Hokers—cute, round enemies that shoot spikes when attacked. Collecting these spikes will net you the Spine Cores you’re after.

Gathering the Items

You’ll find multiple Hokers to the right of the Seamstress’s hut. Attack them, wait for them to release their spines, and collect the numbers needed. You’ll require 25 Spine Cores to succeed in the task.

The Reward

Once you turn in the collected Spine Cores to the Seamstress, you’ll receive the Drifter’s Cloak. This new item will unlock certain paths you’ve previously avoided, allowing you to explore further into the game.
