Starfield's Second Anniversary Teases Big Revelations Ahead
A new post hints at significant upcoming announcements for Starfield as it approaches its second anniversary.
A cryptic new post from Starfield’s social media team appears to be hinting that a significant announcement is coming soon. It has been almost two years since the game launched, and the second anniversary on September 6 may reveal more details about the future of this space action-RPG.
Bethesda has been a notable player in the action-RPG genre for years, primarily due to its success with The Elder Scrolls and the Fallout series when it introduced Starfield in 2018. However, its acclaim hasn’t quite reached the heights of its predecessors. Despite mixed reactions from players, Bethesda is committed to supporting its original IP.
Expect Surprises on September 6
In a recent Twitter post, the development team expressed gratitude to players who have enjoyed exploring the Settled Systems. The post includes a brief animation that initially seems to celebrate the game’s anniversary. However, midway through, the video morphs into a grid of panels, some of which hint at the phrase “Terran Armada,” not currently associated with any factions in the game.
Rumors suggest a second Starfield story expansion is under development, titled “Starborn,” possibly linked to the forthcoming celebration. Speculation about Terran Armada could indicate the introduction of a new faction or expansion, although players might have to wait until 2026 for a full release.
Other interpretations of “Terran Armada” could refer to Earth-descended factions, like the Terran Marines, suggesting potential updates involving large-scale battles or vehicles. The wordplay involving “armada” suggests new land-based vehicles could be forthcoming as well.
