LEGO has officially unveiled its most costly set to date: the new Star Wars Death Star. It features 38 minifigures and over 9,000 pieces for enthusiasts. However, this remarkable LEGO set comes with a steep price tag—$999.99 in the US and £899.99 in the UK.
LEGO Death Star Set
This new Death Star model is not just the biggest Star Wars collectible LEGO has offered, but it’s also notable for its extensive array of hidden features and Easter eggs. This latest offering follows the trend of high-priced LEGO items, stepping into the spotlight as the most extravagant.
On September 4, LEGO organized a world premiere showcasing this 9,000-piece Star Wars Death Star. The finished product is a compact structure at 70cm in height, weighing over 8 kilos and adorned with many enticing details for Star Wars fans, including a trash compactor and Princess Leia’s holding cell.
Despite its appeal, many fans have expressed concern over its hefty $999.99 price. Discussions on Reddit reveal mixed sentiments, with some users expressing doubt regarding the overall value and design, suggesting that essential sections could be incomplete if not purchased promptly due to promotional offers.
Starting October 4, 2025, this new LEGO set will be available for purchase, with early access for members of the free LEGO Insiders loyalty program from October 1 to 3. More details can be found on the official LEGO website.
