A player recently found a critical vulnerability in Marvel Rivals, which hackers may exploit to gain control over players’ PCs and access sensitive information such as passwords.
YouTuber Shalzuth reported the risk in a video, emphasizing the significance of understanding how such vulnerabilities function. According to him, the flaw stems from the game’s cosmetic store updating without the need for a client-side patch. Shalzuth explained, “This flaw allows potential remote code execution (RCE) on users’ devices.”
This situation highlights a broader concern regarding game security, prompting players to be cautious, especially when using public Wi-Fi connections.
