Two of Deadlock’s new heroes are dominating low-skill matches
Victor and Drifter, part of the recent update in Deadlock, are rapidly causing problems for newer players by easily overpowering them during matches.
Both characters, known as ‘pub stompers’, can snowball their way to victory if players do not manage to counter their abilities effectively. Drifter, with his Bloodscent ability, creates a detrimental effect that allows him to track isolated enemies, gaining a permanent damage buff with every kill or assist, making him particularly dangerous.
Victor, on the other hand, presents a complex challenge with abilities that enable him to manage his health and enhance his resilience while inflicting damage on opponents. His ultimate grants him a second chance, leading to chaotic situations if enemies expend resources only to have him return mid-fight.
In casual and low-skill games, these two characters become a huge hurdle due to their high impact, often leaving opponents feeling helpless against their powerful skills.
Valve has acknowledged the issues these characters pose, having released multiple nerfs since their introduction to the game feed. This iterative balance process aims to enhance gameplay for all skill levels without dampening the excitement around new content.
