The Future of IO Interactive's Publishing in Doubt After MindsEye's Poor Performance

Following the disappointing launch of MindsEye, IO Interactive expresses uncertainty about its future in third-party game publishing.

IO Interactive has raised concerns about its future in third-party publishing following the problematic launch of MindsEye, which was previously expected to rival Grand Theft Auto. Developed by Build a Rocket Boy, MindsEye faced major backlash and criticism after its release. Critics noted its lackluster story and technical flaws, which have led to a very low rating for the game. Hakan Abrak, the CEO of IO Interactive, commented on the negative reception, describing the situation as “definitely tough”. While he acknowledged the creativity involved in the game’s development, he was vague about the future of IOI Partners.
