Upon its announcement in June, fans speculated on who would portray the legendary spy. Despite initial silence on the matter, speculations gained traction when a developer hinted that the actor’s name was intentionally kept secret to focus on the game itself. Recently, during PlayStation’s State of Play, it was confirmed that Patrick Gibson is the new James Bond.
While expressing his excitement for the role, Gibson shared that portraying the MI6 agent in a video game format was a thrilling experience. Previous roles of his include the character from 2025’s Dexter: Original Sin.
Gibson also revealed that Lennie James portrays 007’s mentor, Greenway, while Priyanga Burford plays M. Additionally, Alastair Mackenzie assumes the role of Q, Kiera Lester is Moneypenny, and Noemie Nakai features as Miss Roth, who partners with Bond during a car chase shown in the gameplay reveal.
007 First Light introduces an intriguing narrative, differentiating itself with a unique actor in the lead as opposed to the typical faces associated with the franchise. It’s planned to launch on March 27, 2026, providing the team at IO Interactive a six-month window to fine-tune this promising addition to the Bond legacy.
