Open Beta Launch of Monster Hunter Wilds Announced
Fire off those SOS flares, hunters: the Monster Hunter Wilds beta test is now live on Steam.
Anyone and everyone with a PC (or PS5, or Xbox) can join the second Wilds open beta, which began at 7 PM Pacific on February 6th and runs until the same time on Sunday, February 9th. If that timing tragically doesn’t work for you, you’ll have a second chance: Capcom will run another round from February 13th to 16th, also starting at 7 PM Pacific time.
For a complete rundown on the beta, including details about the available monsters and how this build’s performance differs from the launch version coming February 27, check the link above.
To start the beta on Steam, you need to request access via the Steam page. Don’t worry about being denied; there’s no lottery, and there’s no cap on the number of participants in the MHW beta. Once you click the button, you’ll gain automatic access to download the installer, which requires about 24GB of disk space.
If you can’t jump into the game immediately, it’s wise to launch the beta anyway, as it takes a few minutes to compile shaders before you can dive into action.
While waiting for the shaders to compile, check out more coverage of Monster Hunter Wilds!
