Grinding Gear Games is gearing up for significant enhancements in Path of Exile 2 through a series of updates slated for early September. The improvements are designed to tackle various glitches and balance issues that surfaced post-launch of the expansion, The Third Edict.
As of August 29, Path of Exile 2 initiated its second league, Rise of the Abyssal, coinciding with version 0.3, The Third Edict. However, the scale of the expansion has revealed several new gameplay bugs, prompting GGG to respond with this update.
Patch Notes
Feedback from players regarding the Rise of the Abyssal league has been exceptionally positive. Gamers have expressed particular enjoyment of the newly added Act 4, the Interludes, and the removal of the cruel difficulty setting. The adjustments introduced to the endgame are also seen as crucial enhancements.
In a recent forum post, GGG outlined an extensive list of changes to be included in Patch 0.3.0b, which is expected to roll out by the week’s end, around September 7. This patch promises a variety of new gameplay features and fixes aimed at enhancing player experience.
Noteworthy updates include the ability for players to turn Abyssal monsters into Spectres using the Bind Spectre skill, along with improved enemy distribution in the game’s endgame scenarios. These changes aim to alleviate instances of lag caused by enemy clustering.
Boss Fight
Additionally, updates will refine the dodge roll ability, enabling players to escape enemy encirclements more effectively. Balancing adjustments will also be made to several bosses in Act 4 to enhance the fairness of encounters. Notably, the Mighty Silverfist boss’s attack patterns will be corrected to match community expectations.
While these updates address multiple reported issues from the last expansion, communication from GGG hasn’t fully covered persistent performance concerns that detrimentally affect gameplay during endgame content.
Overall, the enhancements scheduled for Patch 0.3.0b are a welcome sight for the community, with many hopeful for additional fixes as the patch release approaches.
