New Edition of Blood Bowl Introduces Teams for Bretonnians and Tomb Kings
A fresh edition of Blood Bowl is set to release, featuring new teams and revised rules to keep gameplay engaging.
Blood Bowl’s tabletop version hasn’t seen rule changes since the second season edition in 2020, but Games Workshop is set to release a third edition later this year. They reassured fans that the core game remains unchanged, stating, “The pitch has not magically grown any new squares, and there are no new stats—everything should be familiar.”
That said, some updates are being introduced. For instance, penalties for Wildly Inaccurate Passes are removed, and the kick-off table has been adjusted. Moreover, players who are thrown and manage to stay on the pitch will now earn points, which was previously exclusive to the thrower.
A significant addition is the introduction of a new action called “Secure the Ball”, allowing teams to reliably pick up the ball if certain conditions are met.
Regarding its implications for Blood Bowl 3, developers Cyanide have indicated that updates will be rolled out to align with the new changes, though this won’t occur until 2026.
