Nvidia's RTX 5070 Emerges as Top GPU in Latest Steam Survey, While AMD's RDNA 4 Is Missing
The recent Steam hardware survey shows Nvidia's RTX 5070 leading in popularity while AMD's latest RDNA 4 GPUs struggle to make an impact.
Nvidia’s RTX 5070 Remains the Most Popular Current-Gen GPU
Recent statistics from Valve’s Steam hardware survey indicate that the Nvidia RTX 5070 has taken the crown as the most popular current-generation GPU. Surprisingly, AMD’s RDNA 4 cards do not appear in the top 100, raising eyebrows about their market performance.
Although it’s not shocking that the RTX 5070 leads, it does strike as curious considering it is only positioned at 20th in overall GPU rankings. The RTX 5070, pivotal as a current-gen option, is now available at or below its MSRP, initially at a price point over $500.
AMD’s Absence
The absence of AMD’s latest RDNA 4 cards, including the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9060 XT, from the top GPU rankings is striking even amid claims of never-before-seen demand. This missing presence implies either a production shortfall or issues in brand recognition, as generic Radeon designs frequently gather more notice than specific model numbers.
Most notably, the RTX 4060 and 3060 lead with 4.85% and 4.79% respectively amongst surveyed players, showing that GPUs with lower memory frequencies continue to dominate the gaming landscape.
