Escape from Tarkov Set for Steam Launch as Version 1.0 Approaches

The popular extraction shooter from Battlestate Games prepares for its Steam debut ahead of the full version release.

Escape from Tarkov, a highly regarded extraction shooter created by Battlestate Games, is making its way to Steam after being available in early access for eight years. The announcement was hinted at by Nikita Buyanov, head of the studio, who shared a humorous gif of an elderly man happily pressing a steam button on an iron.

“Yes! The page on Steam will be available soon,” Buyanov stated. “All the details later.”

While there isn’t a Steam page yet, current players are eager to know if they will be able to add the game, which they have already purchased, to their Steam library or if it will require a new purchase.

The Steam launch is forthcoming and anticipated to coincide with the game’s much-anticipated version 1.0 release, set for November 15, 2025. Over its eight years in beta, the game has seen approximately 400 updates, and Battlestate Games has expressed gratitude to the player base for their dedication during the testing phase.

Like many games, Tarkov has had its share of controversy, especially around updates affecting player progression and in-game economies. The launch on Steam is sure to generate buzz, and many are curious to see how it will be received, considering players’ varied experiences with the game.
