At a recent Stardew Valley Symphony of Seasons concert, Eric Barone revealed that he had initially hesitated to continue updating the game after version 1.6, but he has since reconsidered. “I wanted to share something with you tonight, it’s kind of a secret,” he mentioned, confirming that there will indeed be another update.

Barone took to Twitter to disclose, “Okay, I revealed this at the concert last night and now the cat’s out of the bag, so I will confirm for everyone: There will be a Stardew Valley 1.7 update. No release date, no estimate. But it’s happening.”
