Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake
Following the successes of Octopath Traveler and Live a Live, Square Enix introduced this new remastering to the beloved Dragon Quest series. In November 2024, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake was released with great acclaim, resulting in rising expectations for the upcoming remakes in the series.
In an update shared on Twitter, the official account for the Dragon Quest franchise confirmed the golden milestone. This achievement, accomplished by the teams at ARTDINK and Square Enix, occurred two months prior to the slated release date, quelling concerns about the game’s launch on PC and consoles.

The announcement highlighted Yuji Horii, the creator of Dragon Quest, and Masaaki Hayasaka, the producer of the remake, displaying copies of the game. Fans expressed both excitement for the launch and disappointment regarding the inclusion of a game-key card for the Switch 2 port.
The completion of the game signifies the studio’s confidence in meeting the planned release date, especially in an environment where delays are common later in development. This remake will allow players to experience the classic Dragon Quest trilogy on the latest platforms by October.
