Darkest Dungeon 2 Expands With New Campaign Featuring Bloodsucking Bug-People; Play for Free This Weekend

The latest update for Darkest Dungeon 2 adds a new campaign and is offering players the chance to try the game for free this weekend.

Red Hook Studios’ gruesome roguelike has recently introduced a major update that enhances its Kingdoms mode with a new campaign module. Entitled Curse of the Court, this new content invites players to battle against vampiric bug-people during Regency times, all while searching for a remedy to a sinister curse that these creatures inflict on the populace.

In addition to this new module, players will also enjoy three new maps that define their adventure across all existing modules. The update includes fresh music, achievements, and gameplay adjustments for elements like Punish and Acid Rain. Technical fixes are also included, addressing issues related to ultrawide resolutions and gamepad controls.

To celebrate the update, Darkest Dungeon 2 is available for free until September 1 at 10:00 Pacific (18:00 BST). The game is currently discounted by 63%, now available for $14.79 (£11.28) over the next two weeks.

Sean Martin, who reviewed the game, mentioned that despite its challenges, exploring each region and the intense battles brought a lot of enjoyment. With the new Kingdoms update adding a more open-ended experience, this weekend could be the perfect time to dive in.
