EA has announced that Battlefield 2042 will ramp up Double and Triple XP weekends until the release of Battlefield 6. This decision arises from player feedback, aiming to make rewards in the game more attainable.
The latest update, version 9.2.0, was released on August 18, introducing a new battle pass that includes themed reward packs for the upcoming launch of Battlefield 6. Although the battle pass is available for free, it was criticized for being excessively grindy, leading to numerous complaints on social media.
EA’s Response to Player Concerns
On August 29, EA acknowledged player feedback regarding missed XP weekends and announced the addition of extra XP events to occur every weekend until Battlefield 6 is launched. This aims to enhance the opportunities for players to earn XP efficiently before the new game arrives.
Upcoming Events
In the lead-up to Battlefield 6, gameplay will host Double XP weekends, transitioning to Triple XP for the final two weekends prior to launch. EA plans to continually assess community discussions and telemetry data to inform potential future changes as the new game approaches.
Current Rewards Overview
The new battle pass rewards in Battlefield 2042 feature six themed packages unlocked at different tiers, including various cosmetic items that will carry over to Battlefield 6 upon its release on October 10, 2025.
