Total War: Warhammer 3 Now Features a Modded Crab Empire with Unique Units and Mechanics

A new mod introduces an entire faction of crabs, complete with unique mechanics and lore, to Total War: Warhammer 3.

It’s been a long time coming.

In a whimsical dive into evolutionary humor, Total War: Warhammer 3 has embraced the concept of carcinisation, the idea that many life forms may ultimately evolve into crab-like creatures. Thanks to a mod called The Crustacean Nation, created by the modder Pegaz (highlighted through a YouTube video from MonstersAbound), players can now enjoy a fully functional crab faction within their campaigns.

Crab Empire

These new crustacean units boast their own lore and mechanics, presenting players with five legendary lords, three generic lords, alongside three hero types, with an impressive lineup of 30 units. The detail and creativity involved seem almost worthy of a DLC!

In times of yore, the sheer imagination poured into creating custom content like this reminds us—how many gamers have dreamed of rallying a squad of airborne prawns against their foes?

As a reminder, subscribers must also have Mixu’s Unlocker to make this mod work seamlessly. For those interested, viva la crab empire!
