EA Aims for Battlefield 6 Performance Without Dependence on DLSS

In an effort to enhance gaming experience without relying on advanced upscaling technologies, EA discusses its ambitions for Battlefield 6.

When discussing graphics advancements, one of the major achievements was the introduction of DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), a technology developed by Nvidia that enhances gaming performance by rendering at reduced resolutions and upscaling in real time. While DLSS appreciably boosts performance, it can occasionally lead to graphical glitches such as blurred shadows and latency issues.

However, EA’s recent comments regarding Battlefield 6 signify a shift in focus:
“We want Battlefield 6 to perform excellently without solely relying on DLSS, and we aim to empower players to decide whether to activate it or not,” stated Christian Bruhl, the Technical Director of Battlefield 6. “Our core performance benchmarks have been set without upscaling in mind.”

This aligns with Battlefield Studios’ objective to optimize Battlefield 6 for a broad spectrum of PC hardware and consoles upon its release. The performance feedback from the August beta has been notably positive, as the developers aimed confidently for a launch that maintains or even betters existing stability and performance standards.

Despite being a 2025 title, Battlefield 6’s system requirements appear modest, suggesting that even older graphics cards like the RTX 3060Ti could adeptly handle gameplay at 60 fps without the need for extensive upgrades.
