Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Welcomes New 2024 AAA RPG

The latest title added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate brings a major RPG experience.

New Addition to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Dragon Age: The Veilguard has made its debut in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate catalog as of today. This marks the thirteenth and final game to be added to the service for August 2025, totaling 108 new titles since the start of the year.

Overview of Dragon Age: The Veilguard

The most recent title from BioWare, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, experienced a tumultuous development, undergoing two full reboots and witnessing notable departures from the development team. It eventually released in late October 2024 and has earned a generally favorable response, scoring a “Strong” rating on OpenCritic with an average rating of 80 out of 100 based on critic evaluations. However, user ratings have been mixed, reflected in its 3.5-star evaluation on both the Xbox and PlayStation Store platforms.

Availability on Xbox Game Pass

Almost ten months post its official launch, Dragon Age: The Veilguard has become accessible to Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Unlike many titles that debut as day-one releases, this title requires the EA Play add-on, making it exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users or PC Game Pass members. Players can enjoy it via Xbox Cloud Gaming on supported devices.

Sales Performance

A notable factor contributing to its swift arrival on the subscription service is its sales performance. EA stated that the game sold approximately 1.5 million copies, which fell short of their expectations. Despite this number, all previous Dragon Age titles are currently available through the Xbox Game Pass platform, solidifying the series’ presence on the service.

Upcoming Titles on Xbox Game Pass

Looking ahead, fans can expect the highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong to join Xbox Game Pass on September 4. Microsoft is expected to announce the games joining the service in the following month on September 2.
