Pokemon GO September 2025 Content Update Revealed
Pokemon GO has unveiled its content schedule for September 2025, headlined by the first appearance of Mega Sharpedo in special raids. Fan-favorite Kanto Pokemon are also set to return alongside engaging events and rotating Mega Evolutions next month.
Pokemon GO’s monthly updates usually feature raids, a variety of trainer bonuses, and Spotlight Hours, reflecting a similar arrangement for September.
Among the key offerings, Mega Sharpedo will make its debut in the game on September 7 as part of a Pokemon GO Raid Day, slated for a three-hour window from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. While it’s frequent for Niantic to offer separate shiny variants for certain Pokemon, Mega Sharpedo will have a chance to be shiny, contingent upon completing a raid.
Overview of the September Content Update
In addition to Sharpedo, September’s Mega Raid lineup will feature returning Kanto favorites, commencing on September 2 with Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard X & Y, and Mega Blastoise. These raids will be available until September 9, succeeded by Mega Pidgeot and Mega Gyarados. The raid rotations continue on September 16, later introducing Mega Gardevoir, Mega Latias, Mega Latios, and Mega Gallade for a week. Conclusively, from September 23 to 30, Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Lopunny will be available before being rotated out for Mega Steelix, Mega Scizor, and Mega Lucario. All September Megas will have the potential to be shiny.
On September 2, Pokemon GO’s Season 20 kicks off, celebrating Kanto with wild encounters featuring regional Pokemon, legacy move evolutions, and Dynamax versions of iconic legendary birds like Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres available through paid Special Research. The Kanto Celebration event will run until September 7, coinciding with Mega Sharpedo Raid Day.
Spotlight Hours throughout September will feature Pidgey, Trubbish, Gothita, Hoothoot, and Aron, each occurring on Tuesdays from 6 PM to 7 PM local time.
