Paradox Now Owns Haemimont Games: A New Chapter Begins

Paradox Interactive has acquired Haemimont Games, the studio behind Jagged Alliance 3 and Surviving Mars, marking a significant step in their strategy for management games.

Haemimont Games has cultivated a strong reputation over the past 25 years, producing standout titles such as Tropico 3-5 and Surviving Mars. Their latest acquisition by Paradox Interactive was announced today. Paradox now fully owns Haemimont Games, aiming to enhance its management game portfolio.

In a statement, Paradox referred to this acquisition as a significant move in their strategy to bolster internal capabilities to complement their existing studios.

In recent discussions, Deputy CEO Mattias Lilja and CCO Henrik Fåhraeus highlighted the challenges faced by Paradox, including mishandling game launches. They recognized a need to refocus on core genres to stabilize their business.

Gabriel Dobrev, the founder of Haemimont Games, expressed his excitement: “We’re thrilled to join Paradox! The cultural synergies are exceptional, and we already feel at home. This partnership will allow us to innovate our games further, offering richer experiences to our audience. Expect remarkable new titles from us!”

The gaming community is keen to see what Haemimont will unveil next as it transitions into its new role within the Paradox family.
