The new Deluxe GO Pass for Pokémon GO’s Max Finale event comes with a critical caveat affecting one of the promised rewards of this premium battle pass.
Pokémon GO has had an eventful 2025, adding many exciting features including new Pokémon and evolutions. The latest culmination is the Max Finale event, launching with a special Pokémon.
Eternatus
During the Max Finale, players will have their first chance to catch the iconic Eternatus, originally from Pokémon Sword & Shield, participating in Tier 6 Raid Battles. However, the new pass introduces a catch regarding shiny Pokémon rates.
Pokemon GO player JustKitten_RightMeow shared insights from a discussion with Niantic Support on Reddit, revealing that the boosted shiny odds only apply to Pokémon received through the pass, rather than all encounters.
As the Max Finale event progresses, it has raised limits for multiplayer battles, allowing teams of 100 to battle against Eternatus. This change may increase the already formidable difficulty of Raids.
As fans eagerly await this event, Niantic has hinted at future updates including new Pokémon events and potential additions of Nitrogen Pokémon.
