Ubisoft has announced that Tom Clancy's The Division 2 will be introducing a new Survival mode, inspired by its predecessor, set for a 2026 launch.

New Survival Mode Coming to Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 After Seven Years

Ubisoft recently confirmed that Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will be introducing a Survivors mode. This new mode appears to be an enhanced version of the Survival mode from the original The Division game.

In November 2016, the first The Division received its Survival mode, which required players to endure extreme weather conditions while managing resources and ultimately escaping via helicopter. The feedback from players suggests that this mode was integral to the game, making it a hallmark of the extraction genre.

Upcoming Features in The Division 2

During the ongoing Gamescom 2025, Ubisoft shared details about the Survivors mode targeted for launch in 2026. The development is spearheaded by Magnus Jansén, who previously worked on titles like Far Cry 3.

Although specifics regarding the gameplay mechanics are limited at this time, concept art suggests the return of helicopter extraction and survival in cold environments.

Community Engagement and Development Timeline

Ubisoft has pledged to maintain an open line of communication with fans throughout the development process. Julian Gerighty has assured players that there will be opportunities for feedback that could shape the design of the new mode.

As there are still several months until the expected launch, more information is anticipated as the community awaits this exciting addition to The Division 2.
