World of Warcraft Announces New Player Housing Features

Blizzard Entertainment reveals exciting new player housing options in World of Warcraft's upcoming expansion, Midnight, creating a competitive edge against Final Fantasy 14.

Blizzard Entertainment is finally introducing player housing to World of Warcraft, set to launch with the new Midnight expansion. This addition has been a long-awaited feature for players, and it aims to streamline the housing experience compared to Final Fantasy 14’s complex system.

The announcement detailed how, in contrast to the expensive and challenging housing options in FFXIV, players in WoW will not face exorbitant costs or burdensome requirements. Notably, Blizzard stated:

“If you want a house, you can have a house. No exorbitant requirements or high purchase costs, no lotteries, and no onerous upkeep (and if your subscription lapses, don’t worry, your house won’t get repossessed!)”

This clear jab at Square Enix highlights Blizzard’s intent to make housing accessible for all players. The system will allow players to customize their homes and live among friends in shared neighborhoods.

The new zones for player housing are designed to reflect the distinct cultures of the Alliance and the Horde, with inspiration drawn from classic locations within the game. Moreover, players will have the ability to share their houses with friends across factions, promoting a sense of community and collaboration.
