The development team behind Faeland has opted to delay its version 1.0 release to accommodate the launch of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Team Cherry has announced the game’s upcoming release on September 4 for PC and various consoles, including the Nintendo Switch 2. They also revealed that post-launch content will be available for the much-anticipated title.
Initially revealed in February 2019, Hollow Knight: Silksong features Hornet and aims to introduce an entirely new storyline. However, excitement soon turned into apprehension mainly due to a lack of updates and project delays. While some fans of the original Hollow Knight made light of the situation, anxiously awaiting further news regarding the game’s fate, the anticipation period has finally ended.
Delay of Faeland’s Release
On Twitter, the Faeland developers shared that their version 1.0 would not be launching on September 9 as previously scheduled. They indicated that this was a challenging choice and promised to provide a new release date shortly. Developed by Talegames, Faeland is an RPG that draws inspiration from classic 8-bit games and has been available in Early Access on Steam. The game follows Sam, an adept hunter, as he embarks on an adventure rife with magic and formidable creatures, interacting with NPCs and gaining skills and items along the way.
Additionally, the developers stressed that this postponement was essential for ensuring that Faeland gets the “attention and care it deserves,” a project that has evolved over several years. Since its Kickstarter in 2018, Faeland raised significant funds exceeding its $29,000 target, securing $57,384. Reactions to the announcement were largely supportive from players, who expressed understanding of the developers’ decision despite their disappointment over the delay.
With no confirmed release date for Faeland, fans can at least anticipate Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight: Silksong, arriving on September 4, 2025. As a sequel to the acclaimed 2017 game, the recently released trailer showcases Hornet journeying through a beautifully crafted world, facing new challenges and unearthing hidden truths about her past.
