My Experience with the ROG Xbox Ally: Comfort Redefined
An in-depth look at the ROG Xbox Ally, focusing on its ergonomic design and user experience.
When I queued to test the ROG Xbox Ally, the surprising comfort struck me immediately. Earlier, during its showcase at Gamescom, I hadn’t expected to find the handheld this comfortable.
Previously skeptical about its unique grip design, I have to say, the grips are indeed very comfortable. During my brief 15-minute session, I could already tell that these grips surpass what other handhelds offer.

I expressed my thoughts to the Asus representative present: although it seems light, the ergonomics are what make it feel that way. Interestingly, it’s not actually lighter than the original model; the comfort comes solely from its design.
The handheld also incorporates a bespoke Windows OS, enabling easy toggling between a lightweight gaming mode and full Windows 11. This simplicity greatly enhances usability, making it intuitive to access essential gaming functions.
The real test, however, lies in its pricing and hardware specifications. The ROG Xbox Ally is equipped with a Ryzen Z2 A processor, which, while not the most powerful, is still commendable. For those seeking more power, the ROG Xbox Ally X will feature a Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip, promising even better performance.
Mark your calendars; it’s set to launch on October 16 in several countries. The anticipation builds as we await its arrival!
