World of Warcraft: Midnight Expansion Revisits Unexpected Old Locations
The upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Midnight, will take players to classic zones including Light's Hope Chapel and Stratholme, with chapters focused on Arator Windrunner.
The story campaign of World of Warcraft: Midnight will feature a chapter focused on Arator Windrunner that will take heroes to several old world locations, including Light’s Hope Chapel and Stratholme. While fans were well aware that they would be exploring iconic zones like Quel’Thalas, players will also see many other classic destinations.
Old World Locations
World of Warcraft: Midnight was officially revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live. This exciting expansion introduces four new zones to the game, including a revamped version of Silvermoon City and Eversong – home of the Blood Elves – as well as Zul’Aman, previously a raid site.
WoW: Midnight Arator Chapter Goes to Old Azeroth Zones
Fans will visit familiar zones during their adventures in Midnight. BennyCentral spoke to World of Warcraft’s senior game director Ion Hazzikostas and associate director Paul Kubit during the Xbox Gamescom Day 1 Broadcast. Kubit discussed the campaign which starts in Eversong, moves to either Zul’Aman or Harandar, and concludes in the Voidstorm. Additionally, there will be a third chapter focused on Arator Windrunner – son of Alleria and Turalyon – visiting various old locations across Azeroth.
According to Kubit, this Arator chapter returns to Light’s Hope Chapel—the site of the Death Knight’s rebellion against Arthas in WoW: Wrath of the Lich King—and the doomed city of Stratholme, plus “a few other interesting places.” The heroes of Azeroth will accompany Arator as he “questions his relationship with the Light,” culminating in the final chapter of the base expansion.
This chapter marks a significant shift as, unlike earlier expansions, it allows for a complete chapter set outside the newly introduced zones. Players will have to wait and see how Midnight changes the MMORPG’s paradigm.
