Robert Kurvitz Celebrates Fallout's Impact on Gaming
In a recent stream, Disco Elysium's director, Robert Kurvitz, praised the original Fallout for its unparalleled worldbuilding and character creation.
In a recent streaming session, Robert Kurvitz, the director of Disco Elysium, expressed his admiration for the original Fallout game. He remarked, “It makes other post-apocalyptic worldbuilding seem like an amusement park.”
Kurvitz highlighted the game’s character creator as one of the best features, and he discussed the depth of storytelling that Fallout offers from the very beginning.
He humorously suggested that if Karl Marx were to choose a favorite Fallout game, it would definitely be the second one, while the first he described as a “perfect mood capsule that’s almost Biblical in its annihilation.”
In addition, he noted that the value of any artwork is in the conversations it sparks among people around it, likening art to a bonfire that connects individuals.
Kurvitz, along with other creatives, has started a new studio called Red Info amidst ongoing legal disputes regarding Elysium’s rights. The past and future of gaming narratives are being reshaped by dialogues stemming from games like Disco Elysium and Fallout.
