Blizzard Entertainment has revealed a new cinematic for the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, titled Midnight. The cinematic was showcased during the Gamescom Opening Night Live show and is filled with elves that possess unusually long eyebrows.
In this latest chapter of the World of Warcraft saga, the plot centers around an evil elf named Xal’atath, who threatens the magical golden pool revered by elves. Players may recall this pool, known as the Sunwell, which played a central role in previous Warcraft narratives.
The announcement comes as anticipation builds for Midnight, promising new content including:
- Updated Quel’Thalas zone
- New zones: Zul’Aman, Harandar, and The Voidstorm
- Eight new dungeons and seven new delves
- A “Prey” system for hunting targets in the open world
- Player housing features
- A new playable race: Haranir
- A new specialization for demon hunters
Though Blizzard hasn’t specified the release date for 2026, pre-orders for Midnight are already available, granting early access for the Epic Edition buyers.
