The universe demands a champion, and every champion needs a reliable sidekick. Unfortunately for the universe in The Outer Worlds 2, it’s stuck with you. Thankfully, you’ve got snarky, charming allies ready to tag along and eliminate any threats in your path.

In the recently showcased trailer during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, viewers got a glimpse of the intriguing personalities and skills of the companions you’ll encounter.

*Companions Intro:

• Niles: A cybernetic being known for his sharp wit in combat.
• Aza: A fighter who shares Niles’ penchant for quips during battle.
• Inez: A healer with a similar knack for making catchy remarks while engaged in fights.
• There’s also Marisol, a scientist who’s got a knack for snark, and Tristan, who swings a massive hammer without uttering a word. Last but not least, Valerie, a robot, delivers clinical commentary while taking down enemies. (One might even call them snarky observations.)

While this quick trailer gives a hint of each character’s flair, it may not capture the depth of these companions, who are probably well-developed, given Obsidian’s reputation.

However, one key takeaway from the trailer is highlighted: even if a connection forms, companionship doesn’t extend to romantic engagements—“no, you can’t get cozy with them.” This announcement might disappoint some, but it aligns with previous expectations.
