Release Date and Playable Characters Unveiled for Kirby Air Riders on Switch 2

Kirby Air Riders is set to launch on November 20, 2025, featuring 12 unique characters for players to choose from.

Kirby Air Riders will debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 20, 2025. Initially met with mixed reviews, Kirby Air Ride has gained cult status, leading fans to be thrilled by the unexpected announcement of a sequel. The recent Nintendo Direct unveiled many interesting details about what fans can expect from the latest entry in the franchise.

Release Date Announcement

The game will be developed by a collaboration between Sora Ltd. and Bandai Namco, the same teams that contributed to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The new title aims to amplify the core gameplay of the original while introducing numerous additional playable characters and an enhanced City Trial mode.

A Cast of Characters

A total of 12 playable characters have been confirmed, including beloved figures such as Meta Knight and King Dedede. Options for players also include:

  • Cappy
  • Chef Kawasaki
  • Gooey
  • Knuckle Joe
  • Magolor
  • Waddle Doo

Players will have to strategically select their characters, as each possesses unique stats and abilities. Also, the teaser hints at the return of fan-favorite Dark Matter as a potential playable character.

  • Lessons

Among these, the City Trial mode can accommodate up to 16 players online, where dynamic events will keep participants on their toes. The full list of maps includes:
