Dune: Awakening Roadmap Reveals Update Plans Through 2026
The developer of Dune: Awakening, Funcom, has shared a comprehensive roadmap that outlines the planned free and paid updates set to roll out until late 2026. This gives players insight into what they can anticipate in the coming months.
Despite a commendable launch, Dune: Awakening has faced a few challenges in its early months, and the introduction of new content seems to be just what players need to reconnect with the game on Arrakis.
Upcoming Updates
In a recent announcement on the Dune: Awakening Steam page, Funcom detailed future updates, including free upgrades and paid downloadable content (DLC) scheduled for release until June 2026. Significant updates are slated for September 2025, which will include the Chapter 2 Free Update and the Lost Harvest DLC. Those who purchase the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of the game will receive the Lost Harvest DLC at no cost, while other players must buy it separately or through a Season Pass.
The Chapter 2 update will further the Dune: Awakening narrative with fresh main missions and rewards. It will also offer new character customization options, contracts in the Arrakeen and Harko Village locations, new armor sets, and dynamic interactions. On the other hand, the Lost Harvest DLC promises a brand-new vehicle, a unique building tileset, extensive customization choices, and a series of contracts featuring locations unseen in the base game.
Funcom aims to synchronize the release of free updates with paid DLCs. For instance, the Chapter 3 Free Update and the Raiders of the Broken Lands DLC are projected to be launched between January and March 2026, while updates for Chapter 4 and the Water Wars DLC are expected to follow between April and June 2026.
While new major content expansions will not incorporate endgame modifications, the developers acknowledge ongoing issues within the game and have plans to introduce features like salvageable vehicles and adjusted resource volumes.
Stay tuned for more updates!
