Blackbird Interactive, the studio behind Homeworld 3, has announced its acquisition of the rights to their earlier title, Hardspace: Shipbreaker. This game involved players dismantling decommissioned spaceships and recycling their parts for profit.
In a recent press release, the developer revealed they have reached an agreement with Focus Entertainment, the previous co-owner, to assume full ownership of the game. Blackbird Interactive confirmed that multiple new projects related to Hardspace are already in the works, although specific details about these upcoming titles have not been disclosed. The studio emphasized that these projects will focus on “physics-driven gameplay” and “boundary-pushing design”.
