The First Descendant Incorporates AI Ads Featuring Digital Replicas of Streamers

The game has ignited discussions about using AI-generated influencers for advertising campaigns.

In recent times, Nexon’s game The First Descendant has been catching everyone’s attention due to its innovative advertising strategies. Instead of engaging real influencers, the game employs AI-generated replicas of actual streamers. These digital clones appear in various promotional videos, attempting to express excitement about the game while exhibiting somewhat awkward animations.

Each advertisement features an AI version of a streamer enthusiastically discussing new game content, including a boss named Wall Crasher and a crossover with Nier: Automata. Notably, one of the AI’s peculiar pronunciations of “Automata” has garnered mixed reactions, imitating the real-life excitements of streamers.

Although these ads do not air on Nexon’s official channels, they continue to circulate across TikTok, drawing criticism from the community. The backlash has highlighted concerns around AI using the likeness of real people without their consent, raising ethical questions in marketing strategies for video games.
