Biwin Introduces Ultra-Tiny SSD with Built-In Shock and Water Resistance

Biwin has unveiled a remarkably compact SSD that promises high storage capacity and durability.

MicroSD, watch out! Introducing the Mini SSD from Biwin.

This innovative storage device, aptly named the Mini SSD, is not just compact at only 15 x 17 x 1.4 mm, but it also boasts impressive specifications. With storage options ranging from 512 GB up to 2 TB, its performance achieves read speeds of up to 3,700 MB/s and write speeds of 3,400 MB/s.

For comparison, even the fastest V90-rated MicroSD cards reach a maximum read speed of around 300 MB/s, making the Mini SSD a significant upgrade.

Additionally, it is IP68-rated. This means it’s designed to be dust-tight and can withstand immersion in water for limited periods, which is quite a feat for a drive of its size. Biwin’s engineering also includes internal shock resistance that allows it to survive drops from heights up to three meters.

The main issue? To utilize one of these Mini SSDs, compatible devices will require a proprietary socket, posing challenges for manufacturers and device compatibility.
