In a remarkable fusion of nostalgia and innovation, a Reddit user, RazQ, utilized a non-functional Xbox 360 Slim as the casing for a modern gaming PC. This build houses an impressive setup featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor, Gigabyte RTX 4060 Low Profile graphics card, and 32 GB of DDR5-6000 RAM.
“I happened to have a dead Xbox 360 slim console and this project was born as I half jokingly suggested we [the Redditor and their husband] should build a PC inside this console.”
Translation: I had a broken Xbox 360 console, and jokingly suggested building a PC inside it, and thus this idea thrived.
The build includes over 4 TB of storage via a Samsung 990 Pro SSD, all powered by a surprisingly modest 250 W HDPLEX power supply. Users of this custom creation report it has been running smoothly for over a year.
Keeping components cool in such a compact enclosure was a challenge. To facilitate airflow, the structure retains the console’s original vents, with modifications to enhance air circulation. RazQ has also integrated the console’s original RF PCB for wireless controller compatibility, adding to the uniqueness of this project.
