A prominent theory recently articulated by YouTuber Gator Keys suggests that the cryptic symbolism of the mural is tied to the UFOs, implying that the Federal Investigation Bureau (FIB), a parodic representation of the FBI within the game, is responsible for the creation of these unidentified flying objects. The theory posits that three symbols in the mural—a UFO, a jetpack, and an egg—represent two UFOs and highlight the player’s journey towards achieving 100% completion in the game.
The mural’s five blank spaces are thought to correspond to glyphs scattered across Mount Chiliad, which indicate conditions necessary for the UFO sightings, such as specific weather or time conditions. This theory gains support from a notable detail: players are able to see the FIB logo on the last UFO when they complete the culminating task at the mountain’s peak, suggesting the agency’s involvement.
