Developer Kinetic Games has teased a possible 2026 release window for Phasmophobia's full version, over five years after its initial early access debut.
The creative minds behind Phasmophobia, Kinetic Games, hinted an intriguing prospect for fans. The horror co-op title could finally unveil its full version by 2026. Originally entering early access in September 2020, the game has enjoyed continuous development, including multiple updates and console adaptations.
Planned Release Timeline
Kinetic’s art director Corey J. Dixion revealed to IGN that plans for the 1.0 version coincide with a significant game update, dubbed Horror 2.0, aimed for release sometime in 2026. This update promises to enhance the gameplay experience significantly. Dixion expressed that this timeline is when the development team will consider the game to be ‘feature-complete.’
While fans can anticipate new content and improvements leading up to the full release, they should expect the most substantial changes to occur with the anticipated Horror 2.0 update next year.
Phasmophobia has experienced immense success, amassing over 25 million sales since its early access debut, effectively solidifying its place in the gaming world as a popular online co-op horror game.
