Over 2 Million Players Downloaded Free Co-op Roguelike Guntouchables in 24 Hours

Guntouchables, a slapstick co-op roguelike, achieved impressive player numbers during its free release event.

Guntouchables was available for free for a limited time, attracting more than two million players in just 24 hours. The developer, Game Swing, noted, “Launching free for 24 hours was a huge bet for us,” with the promotion successfully generating interest in the game.

With its humorous take as a co-op roguelike, Guntouchables has made quite an impression despite the initial gamble. Post-free period, the game shifted to a price of $4.99. As of now, it’s still selling well, maintaining a player count that ensures finding teammates is easy.

For those wondering, Guntouchables reached a peak of over 16,000 concurrent players during the free period. Although reviews are limited to about 41 on Steam, it has gathered nearly 1,800 reviews overall, with players praising its value with comments like, “Great game, absolutely worth the money spent.”

This strategy has proven effective for attracting players, though it remains to be seen if this will yield long-term engagement and profitability for the developers.
