Arrowhead Game Studios addresses the perceived similarities between Helldivers 2 and Fortnite's latest season, asserting there's space for both games.
The CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios and one of its community managers responded to the parallels drawn between Helldivers 2 and Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4. While fans expressed concerns over potential competition, Arrowhead assures that they are “not worried” about these similarities, stating, “there’s enough space for all at the king’s table.”

A recent edition of Fortnite has introduced new features like Bug Invasions, prompting fans to notice similarities with Helldivers 2’s insectoid enemies. Community Manager Katherine Baskin humorously remarked on Discord: “It’s giving ‘we have Helldivers at home.’” She emphasized that this imitation is flattering rather than a concern, highlighting the distinctiveness of both games: “If the leaders in gaming think our style inspires them… that’s super cool. But our games couldn’t be more different.”

CEO Shams Jorjani echoed these sentiments, reflecting on how he perceives the new Fortnite season as “very democratic,” alluding to Helldivers 2’s satirical themes.
Though Fortnite frequently draws ideas from various popular culture sources, Baskin reinforced the notion that there’s ample room for diverse gameplay experiences in the industry, and both franchises can thrive simultaneously.
