Battlefield 6 Sets New Player Record During Open Beta

The open beta for Battlefield 6 has achieved unprecedented success, attracting over 470,000 players on Steam.

The open beta for Battlefield 6 has reached a remarkable peak of over 470,000 concurrent players on Steam, setting a new record for the franchise. This significant milestone was achieved even before the beta officially opened its doors to the broader gaming community.

On August 7, EA introduced the early access version of the Battlefield 6 beta, primarily for players who had enrolled through Battlefield Labs or were EA Play Pro subscribers. The two-day early access concluded, paving the way for a three-day testing period available to all players.

Open Beta Performance

Reports indicate that the ongoing test has been extraordinarily popular, evident in the data provided by SteamDB, which noted a high of 473,632 concurrent players on August 9. This places Battlefield 6 as one of the top five most-played games on Steam, ranked just behind Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and PUBG: Battlegrounds.

Notably, earlier Battlefield titles recorded significantly lower player counts during their beta phases. For instance, the previous record held by Battlefield 2042 peaked at about 156,000 concurrent players. In contrast, Battlefield 6 could potentially surpass 300,000 players at launch, projected for October 10, 2025.

Key Statistics

  • The Battlefield 6 beta concludes on August 11 at 1 AM PT.
  • The first Battlefield 6 open beta weekend will occur from August 14 to 17.

Battlefield 6 is anticipated to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
